By Artemis Voulkidis, Spiros Livieratos, Panayotis Cottis (auth.), Mohamed Kamel, Fakhri Karray, Hani Hagras (eds.)

This e-book constitutes the refereed lawsuits of the 3rd overseas convention on self reliant and clever structures, AIS 2012, held in Aveiro, Portugal, in June 2012, collocated with the foreign convention on photograph research and popularity, IACIAR 2012. The 31 revised complete papers have been conscientiously reviewed and chosen from forty eight submissions. The papers are geared up in topical sections on self sufficient sensors and sensor structures, independent platforms and clever regulate with purposes, clever fuzzy platforms, clever robotics, clever wisdom administration, swarm and evolutionary equipment, and applications

In reality, the thermal noise of the system is the limiting factor of the overall performance, thus more operating cycles are required to suppress the thermal noise. In this design, the number of operating cycles is selected to be 1500. The result shows that the conversion error is only a few atto-Farad (aF), while the input capacitance is in the range of pico-Farad (pF). Therefore more than 20-bit resolution is achieved. The operating time for each cycle in this design is around 6 μs, which makes the total measurement time 10ms.

Scenario description is an acyclic directed graph G = (V, E), where V is the set of events in scenario and E is the set of edges. Each edge in G is an ordered pair (vi , vj ), where vi ,vj ∈ V , vi = vj , event vi is directly followed by event vj . One of the important issue here is to determine the context. g. the context ‘raining’, can be directly acquired from physical sensors.
