Practical Analyzers (ISTP) like to troubleshoot and solve problems. They enjoy dealing with immediate situations and are most engaged when analyzing the details and specifics of a concrete problem. They are hands-on workers and like to be active. Insightful Analyzers (INTP) are naturally attracted to opportunities to independently analyze and solve complex problems. They enjoy working with theoretical ideas and seek knowledge and insights that help them objectively understand the world around them.

You may also find it helpful to observe and think about how you react and interact in different situations. Ask people close to you how they see you in terms of these preferences. But be careful not to rely too heavily on what other people see and how you are currently acting. In many situations you must be able to operate using or showing preferences other than the ones you would naturally choose. Another way to confirm your preferences is to go back to the list of personality type preference pair descriptors.

While everyone seeks to understand and relate experiences to values to some extent, Enhancers use this approach as their primary way of interpreting the world. Enhancers come in two types, working within the internal world of reflection and analysis and using their values to organize and evaluate their external world, but balancing this internal focus by taking in new information and acting in the world around them. Practical Enhancers (ISFP) naturally enjoy and find ways to connect to and be in harmony with the moment.
