This is our way of struggling for justice and peace. (Vanier, 2004) It may seem a heavy burden to thrust on disabled people to be the pioneers of a new world of love, acceptance, justice and non-violence. Such a romantic notion is likely to be rejected by many disabled people, who see themselves, and wish to be seen by others, as equal citizens with equal rights, not as special, holier-than-thou alien creatures.
