4. 4 The Effect of Mobility The scenarios considered in this case consists of 50 nodes moving with a speed varied between 0 and 40m/s, following a random waypoint mobility pattern with a 5 seconds pause time. Ten TCP connections are established in which a 25Kbytes FTP file is uploaded every 20 seconds. As expected, the TCP goodput is negatively affected by increase in speed but differently for the three routing protocols (Figure 5(a)). The three protocols perform very well at low speeds; even for DSR where the route caching is useful as the routes in caches are constantly good and useful.
